Introducing the U-Power

Nowadays we rely on our phones when travelling or running quick errands. We use them to make grocery lists, look up directions and check bus schedules. We have electronic versions of maps and notebooks in our device instead of paper copies, which brings great convenience for everyone.

Since we use our mobile devices for mostly everything, our battery life runs out faster. I have tried bringing my own power bank everywhere I go, but I find it inconvenient—it’s heavy and a burden having to charge the “brick”.

But have you thought about renting one? Car shares and bike shares are now easily accessible by apps through our mobile phones. The same concept works for power banks too. Renting a power bank is now possible through mobile apps.

Introducing the U-Power, a U-bicycle supported app allows user to rent a power bank through an app. Renting a power bank can be done in 3 simple steps

  1. Download and open the app

  2. Scan the QR code from the Power Tower (image below)

  3. A U-Power pops up and now you can charge your device!

Now I don’t have to worry about leaving my house with low battery life or my phone dying in the middle of the day!

There are so many situations I can think of where I had a thought in my head “I really need a power bank right now”. With very little battery life on my phone, I have missed busses, gotten lost in the city, and missed important calls.

Power bank sharing can change the way we live. We now don’t have to be stressed out over missing the bus or phone calls. This gives me more opportunities to hang out with my friends more and explore the city safely and not miss out any good spots to see.

Stay tuned for more on U-Power!
